The Quebec government has launched the LogisVert résidentiel program to support homeowners in upgrading their HVAC systems, enhancing energy efficiency, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Whether you’re considering a new heat pump, ventilation upgrade, or improved climate control, the program offers a clear structure of financial incentives. Here’s a detailed guide to eligibility, funding amounts, application process, and key conditions.
✅ Who Is Eligible?
Before applying for the LogisVert Efficient Homes Program, please ensure your submission meets all eligibility requirements outlined in this guide and its appendices.
Eligible Applicants Include:
- Homeowners of residential properties located in Québec
- Tenants, provided that they personally cover the cost of eligible equipment installation
🏠 Eligible Property Types:
The LogisVert Program applies to the following types of residential dwellings. To qualify, each home must also meet all the following conditions:
Home Types:
- Single-family home
- Semi-detached home
- Row house
- Mobile home
- Four-season cottage (suitable for year-round living)
- Condo unit (owner-occupied only)
- Multiplex (residential buildings with up to 19 units)
- Individual apartment unit within a larger residential building (20 or more units), only if the unit has its own electricity meter and energy-efficiency upgrades are performed by the unit’s owner
Additional Eligibility Requirements for Homes:
- Must be located within the province of Québec
- Must be a residential dwelling intended for year-round living
- Must be completed and in use
- Must be powered by one of the following electricity supply systems: Hydro-Québec’s grid (with a valid service contract), Off-grid system, Municipal or cooperative electricity system.
Eligible Heat Pump Systems and Installation Requirements:
To qualify for financial assistance, the heat pump system and the installation work must meet all of the following conditions:
📦 Equipment Requirements
The system must be brand new (used or refurbished units are not eligible)
It must include:
- Either a central air-to-air split system (one outdoor and one indoor unit), or
- A wall-mounted mini-split air-to-air heat pump (one outdoor and one or more indoor units)
The complete system must:
- Appear on the Program’s list of eligible heat pumps
- Be purchased from a retailer located in Québec, or an online retailer with a valid address in Québec
- Be installed in a home where electricity is the main heating source
What Kind of Work Is Eligible?
To qualify for the LogisVert financial assistance, your installation must meet the following requirements:
It must involve installing a high-efficiency heat pump for both heating and cooling.
The work must be done by a company that:
- Is officially registered with the Registraire des entreprises du Québec (REQ).
- Holds the proper licenses from the Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ) for the work being done.
- Is a member of the professional organization related to their trade.
❌ What Kind of Work Is Not Eligible?
Financial assistance will not apply if your project involves:
- Installing indoor units outside the insulated (livable) areas of your home — like in the attic or roof space.
- Replacing only a single part of the heat pump (just the indoor or outdoor unit, or a single coil).
- Replacing a heat pump due to a failure, even if it’s under warranty or covered by insurance.
- Installing or replacing a central heat pump in homes that already have geothermal systems.
💰 How Much Can You Get?
Hydro-Québec offers financial assistance for both the purchase and installation of efficient heat pumps — as long as all program requirements are met.
The exact amount depends on:
- The type and model of heat pump installed.
- The installation date.
How Much Can You Get from the LogisVert Heat Pump Subsidy?
Under the LogisVert Efficient Homes Program in Québec, homeowners and eligible tenants can receive financial assistance when installing a qualifying heat pump. The exact subsidy amount depends on the energy efficiency level of the unit installed. The government offers two tiers of support:
Premium Model Subsidy (High Efficiency)
For high-efficiency heat pumps (those on the program’s premium list), the government provides a subsidy of CAD $120 per 1,000 BTU/h, based on the rated capacity at -8°C.
Example: A heat pump with a rated capacity of 18,000 BTU/h would qualify for:
18 × CAD $120 = CAD $2,160
Base Model Subsidy (Standard Efficiency)
For standard efficiency models, the subsidy is CAD $50 per 1,000 BTU/h, also based on the rated capacity at -8°C.
Example: The same 18,000 BTU/h unit would receive: 18 × CAD $50 = CAD $900
These subsidies provide meaningful savings for homeowners looking to upgrade to energy-efficient heating and cooling solutions. Choosing a high-efficiency model not only increases the upfront financial assistance but also delivers long-term energy savings.
Important:
- If you’re the homeowner: Make sure the name on your invoices matches the name on your proof of ownership. The financial assistance will only be paid to the registered owner of the eligible home.
- If you’re a tenant: Your full name and address must appear on both the invoices and the application. In this case, the financial assistance will be paid directly to you, the tenant applicant.
- Maximum Reimbursement Limit
The financial assistance you receive can’t be more than the total cost of purchasing and installing the equipment.
We are pleased to share that a wide range of ZERO brand heat pump models have been officially included in Hydro-Québec’s list of eligible products under the LogisVert Efficient Homes Program.
This means that homeowners or tenants planning to apply for financial assistance can directly refer to this product list to:
- Confirm that your selected model is eligible for subsidies
- Understand the corresponding heating output at -8°C
- Reference the financial assistance amount you may receive
Each model is listed with detailed specifications, including:
- Outdoor and indoor unit model numbers
- Heating output performance
- Associated rebate amount in Canadian dollars

How to Apply for the LogisVert Subsidy
Step 1: Create Your Profile and Submit Your Application
Go to the official LogisVert website: https://www.hydroquebec.com/residentiel/mieux-consommer/aides-financieres/logisvert/residentiel.html
Create your personal profile, then follow the steps to fill out your online application.
Be sure to:
Choose the eligible home you’re applying for.
Upload all the required documents (you can find what’s needed in the appendix related to your chosen equipment or bonus options).
Make sure your invoices clearly show they’ve been paid in full.
Important: Applications sent by email or regular mail will not be accepted — everything must be done online through the portal.
Step 2: Application Review & Tax Information (Relevé 27)
After you’ve submitted your application, log in to your profile at any time to check the progress.
Review Time:
It usually takes 10 to 12 weeks to process your application — starting from the day we receive all your completed documents.
If something’s missing or not eligible, you’ll be contacted by email or phone within 20 business days to let you know what needs to be fixed.
What is Relevé 27 (RL-27)?
If you’re applying for the financial assistance as a business or property owner (e.g., a landlord who doesn’t live in the rental unit), Hydro-Québec is required to issue a Relevé 27 tax slip for government payments.
To do this, you’ll need to provide one of the following:
- Your Québec enterprise number (NEQ)
- Your GST number
- Your social insurance number (SIN)
To keep your personal data safe, Hydro-Québec will send you a secure email with instructions for entering your SIN. Once you’re confirmed eligible, you’ll be notified to log in and continue.
Step 3: On-Site Check (If Needed)
Hydro-Québec might contact you to schedule a home visit. This is to confirm that the energy-efficient installation (like your heat pump) meets all program requirements.
You could also be asked to send in a few extra documents if needed.
Step 4: Get Your Financial Assistance
Once your application is approved and all documents are received, you’ll get your subsidy by mail — sent to the address you entered in your application.
Important: If you’ve moved or changed your mailing address, make sure to call the LogisVert support team at 1-833-396-1888 to update it.
Tip: If your application is incomplete, the review process could take longer than 12 weeks, so double-check everything before submitting.
Application Deadline
You need to submit your financial assistance application within 9 months after the installation is completed.
If your application includes multiple measures (like a heat pump and insulation), the 9-month countdown starts from the date the first measure was installed. Make sure you apply on time!
